MESSAGE FROM NICK...

The treadmill continues and with it the need to continually travel from one event to the next. We begin 2010 in Australia where the weather permits longer training days and more consistent racing events. April draws us back to Europe where the team and I will continue to test ourselves against the best sailors in the world on all stages; short course, endurance and long offshore yacht racing.

I continue my love for diversity in sailing, which leads me to competing in many different disciplines within the sport, but my unchallenged primary objective for the foreseeable future is to win a dinghy world championship crown. For more information about future projects and the classes visit the ‘campaign info’ section of this site.

Eva is now 2 years old and the absolute sunshine in my every day!

Thanks for logging on, enjoy.

‘Seize the day’

Nick.

At least for this event we have managed to squeeze in some training so we hope to be stronger competitors than we were in Sete a few months back…we shall see.

RTI RACE AND SUPERYACHT CUP   29 Jun 2010 // 10:46
RTI RACE AND SUPERYACHT CUP
From the Round the Island Race, it was busses, trains and planes to Palma de Mallorca in Spain for the Super Yacht Cup where I sailed with the team aboard the 40m-glamour ship Tenaz. I love this event, its incredible to sail these floating palaces. Our team are a great laugh as well, the only down side is the handicapping system did not work this year as the wind strength was unpredictable….when it was supposed to be windy, it was light and vice-versa. The best result we manage for the event was an individual 6th in race 2 but just incredible sailing conditions, mostly 15kts of wind and clear blue sky’s. The boats are so loaded it’s a little scary at times and when the average boat is worth more than 10 million euro’s there is always a few stressful moments when we get too close together.
